“The Best In Town” is a long-standing part of marketing culture. Everyone has seen it, and it is used widely and frequently. Still, is it the “best” expression?
What is the problem with saying you’re business is the best in town?
If there are 50 restaurants in a town, probably all of the top 5 restaurants could claim, with some justice, they’re the best. For loyal customers, the sentence might actually make sense, but still, this assertion is subjective and doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the best, does it?
How could you use adjectives/adverbs?
Instead of saying, “We’re the best in town”, you could go one level deeper - how does a certain word reflect on others? “We’re the best in town, and thus we’re almost always 100% booked.”
You can always go one level deeper, and say how it affects your business and brand as the teller of the story. “We’re the best in town, and thus we’re almost always 100% booked and we are honored to serve our community.”
One way of telling a story better than simply writing “best” is to show the effect on others / yourself, the storyteller.
Use Numbers Statistics - “40% of this town’s visitors visit us at least once a year, and thus we think we’re the best in town”.
Validate From An External Source - “According to TripAdvisor, we have the best overall rating in our town, thus we think we’re the best in town”. You could also mention a relevant critic, influencer, or award as a testimonial.
You don’t need to prove you’re the best, you just need to provide compelling evidence that your service or product is of high quality and is coveted and respected by many. Enhancing your online presence through Search Visibility Optimization can help showcase this to a broader audience.
